Our Team

Rick is the Founder and a Director of The Damascus Road Foundation, a foundation that provide safe housing in nice neighborhoods for women in recovery, so they can heal, grow, and transform into all God created them to be. 

Rick also owns and operates a remodeling company which has been serving the residential market in SE Michigan for over 30 years.  Guided by intentional planning, strong organizational structure, clear communication, and a servant’s heart, his company has elevated the remodeling industry by delivering a standard of professionalism few firms achieve. Prior to working in construction, Rick obtained his electrical engineering degree from Michigan State University in 1988 and worked for IBM and General Electric. 

Since 2020, Rick was an active real estate investor utilizing the shared housing model. He rented individual rooms out to women who needed a place to live that was under local area apartment costs. While this opportunity provided an abundance of learning opportunities and helped those with housing needs, it lacked the structure and accredited model that he has now since adopted after meeting Frank & Sherri Candelario from Kate’s House Foundation.  

For over 35 years, Rick has been a devoted student to personal growth and on a Godly walk towards personal transformation. It is through these teachings, challenges, and life experiences The Damascus Road Foundation has been built upon. During his down time, Rick enjoys working out, reading, and metal detecting. 

Linda Kuhn has spent more than four decades faithfully serving others through her church, community, and professional career. With a heart for compassion and a lifelong commitment to helping those in need, she brings both practical experience and a servant's spirit to The Damascus Road Foundation.

Throughout the years, Linda has faithfully served in numerous volunteer leadership roles within her local church, including as a member of the Trustee Board and Missions Board, team leader of the church library committee, children's chapel teacher, member of the Christian youth education committee, prayer leader, Barnabas ministry prayer team member, women's Bible study facilitator, and primary leader of her church's refugee resettlement ministry. She has also ministered beyond the church walls by leading Bible studies in the local county jail and volunteering at Grace Centers of Hope.

Professionally, Linda began her career serving the disadvantaged through the Detroit Rescue Mission, where she used her administration skills to coordinate volunteers and assisted in the fundraising department. She later devoted more than 28 years to public service with a local government agency, serving in several positions before concluding her career as a Geographic Information Specialist.

Linda's life reflects a deep conviction that every person possesses inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and hope. Her extensive experience serving individuals from diverse backgrounds, combined with her steadfast Christian faith, make her a valuable member of the Board of Directors for The Damascus Road Foundation.

When she is not serving others, Linda enjoys reading, taking long walks in nature, tending her garden, preparing healthy meals, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Frank Candelario is a licensed real estate broker with Best Choice Realty in Washington state and has been a registered broker for 10 years. He leads operations and investor education at Kate’s House Foundation® and uses his deep real estate expertise to find the best homes for our model. Frank has led the remodeling of all eight Kate’s House homes — and has personally knocked out a few walls himself.

Frank advises students across the U.S. on home purchases. When a student purchases Home Study Heroes, Frank personally reviews and gives advice on the home they buy. He’s direct in his coaching — he frequently says “No,” or “let’s wait.”
